A year has come and gone again - tell me about yours!

dupertych-1

I feel a bit reluctant about doing a review of my year 2011 in this life here on Lucullian, I have my doubts about how interested you really are and apart from that, if you read Lucullian regularly you already know what I have been doing, at least as much as I am willing to talk about in a public space like this blog. So I am only putting down a few points about the things I am proud and/or happy of:

- I still have a healthy and happy family - I am proud of having the husband I have and the three children I have produced with him. They have all four showed me the importance of love and loving. Thank You!

- I have been working well this year, many fun commercial jobs and I am now a monthly collaborator of two Italian food magazines. And strewn in between these, there have been many other interesting assignments for me to do. I still have a dream and that is to shoot the photos for a cookbook.

- I am very proud of the success that the Plate To Page Workshops have had and to work together with Jamie, Jeanne and Meeta, three quite fantastic women really! And so very happy to have met all the P2P participants too, incredible persons each and every one of them!

- I'm quite proud of Saveur.com's making Lucullian a finalist  in Saveur's Best Food Blog Awards, category Best Regional Cuisine Blogand for including my blog in Saveur's Worldwide Feast: 55 Great Global Food Blogs. Thank You Saveur, much appreciated!

I think I am done here but why don't YOU, dear reader, tell me what you did in 2011, in my opinion that's far more interesting to hear so please tell me in a comment what happened to you, good or bad, whatever you feel like sharing with me. And Thank You for yet another year here-I wish you all a pleasant end to the year and the best of years in 2012!

  1. 2011 was a year of roller coaster emotions. We made the move from Croatia (where we lived for 18 months) to Colorado. Living overseas changed me. I wish to live a more simple life. What is the saying, "less is more?" I hope 2012 continues to bring us health and happiness!

  3. You are one who always inspires me. I won't gush over you, meeting you, getting to know you so well or having the great good luck to work with you (and Jeanne and Meeta), I will say that I am so thrilled that our family's met - and liked! - each other this year! For that I am truly grateful! And having you on the other side of my screen pushing me, scolding me, encouraging and supporting me, loving me no matter what and opening up your true self to me - all helping make ME a better person and work harder. I love you and you deserve all the great things that come your way (and more)! I am looking forward to spending 2012 with you...

  4. It is always lovely to stop by your blog. I know I don't write often but I have been reading your blog for the past 3-4 years. Good on you for all the well deserved achievements and God Bless you and your little nest :-). Here is hoping that 2012 brings to life your dream of shooting a cookbook!!

Like you, I celebrate everyday with my best friend and husband of 16 years and our two little boys. I cook, eat, photograph, design, write and illustrate. All the things I love. And along the way I learn more, try to get better, share and make connections (with awesome people like you :-)). For the most part of 2011 that is what I did and hope to keep doing in 2012.

    Happy New Year!

  6. What a wonderful list of things to be happy about from this last year. I will spend some time today to find the things I am proud of or happy about. It was a year of change for me and acceptance, so many wonderful blogs have encouraged, inspired and motivated me. Yours is one of the best, congratulations on all these achievements and I am sure you will soon accomplish the one dream you shared with us, your beautiful photography and way of seeing things gracing the pages of a cookbook. Please keep sharing, we may not always comment but for some of us, your blogs truly inspire to create and appreciate beauty in our own lives.

  7. Traveled a bit, I ate some stuff, took photos of same and drank far too much too. More of the same during 2012 with a bit of luck!

Kram Eva

I have become the a bad blogger because I either forget or I don't have the time to answer your comments but that does not mean that I don't read or appreciate them, quite the opposite really. The generosity that shines through what you write and the fact that you take the time to comment on my posts makes my blogging worthwhile so Thank You for what you do for me and please keep on commenting!
