Today only photos but lots of them instead

grey lines

It's been raining a lot here lately, to be honest it feels as if it is the only weather we have this spring, greygreygrey and rain, so when there was a pause in all that heavenly watering this morning, I grabbed my camera to get some shots of all the poppies before they give up hope of better times and just die. I was lucky, it's is pouring down now when I sit here writing these words.... Enjoy the red!

Isn't the grasshopper gorgeous, it certainly strikes the pose

poppies and water
There is a lot of water left here and there

poppy stages and bee

Lots of bees desperately working while they can, they were so busy they didn't care at all if I put the camera lens up their noses

Meraviglioso! It is the same countryside I live in, but through your camera it seems so more beautiful, and fresh, and stunning!

  5. Beautiful images.  The grasshopper stole my heart.  Poppies are definitely one of more photogenic flowers, be it rain or shine.  I love the tear drops on them in your pictures, and the wrinkled, paper-like texture of the petals when they are dry.

  6. We are suffering from the same wet, dreary weather here in the Northeast United States.  We may pass right over spring and jump directly into the hot, humid summer months before we know it!!!  Thanks for all the colors.  Ciao

  7. ahhhhh ... poppies, like a cardinal, the reds of nature just grab us!!  When my mother-in-law had charge of our Michigan cabin we had poppies all over the back yard in spring.  Maybe one day I can get them back.

Yes, Ilva it was THAT ciabatta!  Have you found a twisted bread yet?

  10. Great pitures! You are so talented!
I was in Italy 2 weeks ago and was very lucky to have nice weather!
At least the rain helped your pictures to become even nicer! ;)

  11. The reds of the poppies and the greens speak of spring, no matter the weather!
You captured the reds beautifully (I find them really hard to do).
May I ask what lens you were using? I have been trying to stick to my 85mm lens, I bought it for macro images, but have come to love it for many other purposes too.

The little pink rose is for you.
May the sun return to Tuscany soon!

  18. I've been away from a computer for weeks--I'm hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, from Mexico to Canada, through the mountain ranges of California, Oregon, and Washington--but I'm now taking a week's break--and how wonderful it is to see your photos and read your blog again! I love these rainy spring images--and poppies (waterlogged or otherwise), too! Thanks!

I have become the a bad blogger because I either forget or I don't have the time to answer your comments but that does not mean that I don't read or appreciate them, quite the opposite really. The generosity that shines through what you write and the fact that you take the time to comment on my posts makes my blogging worthwhile so Thank You for what you do for me and please keep on commenting!
