BRESAOLA AND TALEGGIO WITH SESAME SEEDS ON RUCOLA

Bresaola and Taleggio With Sesame Seeds on Rucola

Here I can go weeks on end without the trace of meat on Lucullian and now this is the third blog post with meat in three days, I think my body needs iron or something else that it can find in meat. Bresaola is air dried beef fillet that originally comes from Valtellina in northern Lombardy, it has a dark red colour and you eat it thinly sliced. This type of meat is found in many other countries so if you cannot find bresaola, you can look for some other type of dried meat. I love it just as it is but I also enjoy it as my mother-in-law serves it, on a bed of rucola with parmesan shavings and a mix of lemon juice and olive oil drizzled over it, it is delicious! Here I have deviated a bit from the more traditional approach, the Taleggio cheese (one of my favourite cheeses) and the sesame seeds add nice texture to a pretty starter!
