COLD STRAWBERRY AND CHILI SOUP

For some reason I have a lot of strawberry puree around that I’m eating in various ways, one of them is like this. I find that a cold, thick strawberry soup with a dash of chili powder on top wakes you up on a hot day and now it’s hot here. The grass has browned and the real summer noises are here, you know that strange calmness that you find in the middle of the day when it is as hottest, no one is around and all you hear is the cicada chirping away, almost driving you crazy. That’s when you need to eat or drink some ice cold strawberry and chili soup, I promise that it makes you feel saner, more alert and even more friendly towards the world!

COLD STRAWBERRY AND CHILI SOUP
a serving suggestion

Strawberries
Sugar
Lime or lemon, optional
Chili powder

- Run the strawberries in a blender until they have transformed into a smooth puree.
- Put the puree in a pan, add as much sugar as you want and just heat it up until the sugar has dissolved. Taste it and add lime if needed. Put in a bowl and leave it to cool down.
- Let it get really cold in the fridge.
- Serve it topped with chili powder.
