Later today I’m sending my entry for the Does My Blog Look Good In This, it’s going to be the broccoli spoon photo which ‘won’ with 44% of the votes. And then I have a question to you, since I have started to convert the measures in my recipes I often wonder which one is the best to convert liquids to, fluid ounces or cups? I use deciliters for both volume and liquid measuring but I realize that it confuses some of you but that’s the way I’m used to do it. And then we have pints and surely some other measures that are slipping my mind right now. It’s a jungle actually, the more I think about it, the more irritated I get so now I’m leaving this subject but I would appreciate your opinions about it!

Finally I’m doing a Weekend Herb Blogging post again, I really don’t know why I have stopped, laziness probably or maybe these thing comes in cycles. Anyway, here I am again, participating in Kalyn’s great initiative that has turned out to be far more long lived and popular than she ever believed, I’m sure of that! CREAMY ZUCCHINI SOUP WITH FRESH OREGANO AND LEMON or ZUPPA DI ZUCCHINE, ORIGANO FRESCO E LIMONE

500 g /17.65 oz zucchini
75 g / 2.65 oz leek
1 liter / 33.8 fl oz water or vegetable stock
100 ml / 3.4 fl oz fresh cream
Fresh oregano, you decide how much
Lemon
Salt
Olive oil

– Trim and cut the leek and the zucchini into slices and then braise them in some olive oil for a couple of minutes.
– Add the water or the vegetable stock and let it simmer without a lid for 15 minutes.
– Blend the soup together with the fresh oregano until creamy and then you add the fresh cream. If you want you can heat it up a bit but you can this soup both tepid and cold!
– Serve the soup with wedges of lemon so that each of you can decide how much lemon you want. I squeeze the lemon straight into the soup because I like it but not everyone does!
