Menu For Hope

Still no internet connection at home but this is so important that here I am again at the Internet point of my supermarket Coop in Pistoia to make today’s post! Yes, today it’s the kick off for the Menu For Hope and this year I’m participating for the first time! I hope you will bid a lot for the prize I have donated, a set of three food photos (the code is EU18), yes, those that you have scrolled by in order to read this. The photos are 27 cm x 20 cm / 10.63 in x 7.87 in. If you aren’t interested in adorning your kitchen with them but would rather win something else, there’s a lot to choose from, check out David Lebovitz for the European food blogs and Chez Pim for the rest of the world. But after all the compliments you have been paying me about my photos I’ll be very very deluded if you don’t put any bids for my prize ( code EU18). I have chosen them for two reasons, one is because they go well together both as subjects and for the colouring and the other reason is because I know that at least two of the three are very popular with you! So go and bid. But how? It’s sooo simple, just follow these instructions (that I have lifed from David because he’s done it so well that it would be a pity not to use them again!):

“HOW TO BID
Here’s what you should do…

1. Go to the donation page at (http://www.firstgiving.com/menuforhopeIII)

2. Make a donation! Each $10 will give you one raffle ticket toward a prize of your choice. Please specify which prize or prizes you’d like in the ‘Personal Message’ section in the donation form when confirming your donation. Do tell us how many tickets per prize, and please use the prize code-for example, a donation of $50 can be 2 tickets for UW01 and 3 for UW02.If your company matches your charity donation, please remember to check the box and fill in the information so we could claim the corporate match.

3. Please also check the box to allow us to see your email address so that we could contact you in case you win. Your email address will not be shared with anyone.

4. Check back on Chez Pim on January 15 when we announce the result of the raffle. The drawing will be done electronically. Our friend the code wizard Derrick at Obsession with Food is responsible for the application that will do the job.”

So come on-start bidding! NOW! Last year $ 17 000 was raised but this year it will be even more! Think about the good you are making and that there will be fewer hungry people out there because of your donation! Food blogging can’t only be about food for us who have money and opportunity to get good food, we must stretch our solidarity to those who are not as fortunate as we are! Go now!
