Common Cold Remedies Meme

I have been tagged twice for this meme so maybe it’s about time that I post it! The first one to tag me was Raquel of Raquel’s Box of Chocolate who is the one who came up with the idea and today I was tagged by lovely Paz of The Cooking Adventures of Chef Paz. So here’s the Common Cold Remedies Meme! I’m supposed to share my best remedies for a common cold in order to help those of you who are sneezing away at your computers. I only have one remedy that I make when I feel that a cold is closing in and it is a infusion/concoction that I once threw together out sheer instinct (that’s the only way to explain it) which later turned out to be quite good. Not that it really cures the cold but I have learnt that the things I put into it have antiseptic or strengthening properties! Not bad and it is spices and stuff that you usually have at home, at least I have!
It’s really simple, you just put a cinnamon stick, 4-6 cloves, some slices of fresh ginger, half a lemon in slices in a large cup and then you pour hot water of it and let it stand for 5-10 minutes. Sweeten it with unprocessed honey and drink. It is even quite nice to drink.
My parents used to eat raw garlic but I think this is a more socially acceptable way of curing your cold, at least it is less smelly!

I want pass this on to some food bloggers in different countries so that I will learn something new so I tag:

Sailu at Sailu’s Food in India
Chanit of My Mom’s Recipes and More in Israel
Caroline of Bibliocook in Ireland
Dagmar of A Cat in the Kitchen in Sweden who has Polish roots
Sarah Lou of One Whole Clove in Canada

I have become the a bad blogger because I either forget or I don't have the time to answer your comments but that does not mean that I don't read or appreciate them, quite the opposite really. The generosity that shines through what you write and the fact that you take the time to comment on my posts makes my blogging worthwhile so Thank You for what you do for me and please keep on commenting!
